Singing Lessons
Singing lessons can be a great way to develop better vocal and breathing techniques. Not only will you feel more confident and comfortable when performing, but singing lessons can have a tremendous impact on your overall well-being and happiness.
How singing can help you:
Improved Vocal Range & Control
Singing lessons can help you develop a stronger, more confident vocal range and give you the skills to control your voice. With practice, you'll be able to hit higher and lower notes more easily, as well as control the volume and tone of your voice.
Improved Confidence
Taking singing lessons can give you the confidence to perform in front of an audience. With practice and guidance, you'll be able to feel more comfortable and confident when singing.
Improved Breath Control
Learning proper breathing techniques can help you develop a better sound and improve your endurance when singing. With a stronger breath control, you'll be able to hold notes longer and project your voice better.
Improved Posture
Singing lessons can help with your posture, which is key to developing a strong sound. A good posture will help to open up your airways, giving you a stronger, fuller sound.
Singing lessons can be a great way to develop your vocal abilities, increase your confidence, and improve your overall communication skills. With practice and guidance, you'll be able to unlock your true potential and become a better singer.
At Voice Vibes, Lynne specialises predominantly in the musical theatre repertoire with some classical song, and is able to teach beginners of all ages to advanced students.
If students wish to go in for exams, the current syllabus is Trinity College London. Over the years, Lynne has put many students in for exams and has a 100% pass rate at either merit or distinction level.
For students unfamiliar with music notation, it is recommended that musical knowledge is completed alongside singing lessons.
Young people who wish to take singing lessons need to be a minimum of 11 years old.
Singing Lesson Format
In all singing lessons at Voice Vibes, we work at your pace and towards your musical goals. Alongside learning songs, lessons include:
Vocal Exercises
These are designed to warm-up your voice and build your vocal technique, for example, vocal projection, breath control and placing our voice.
Acting through Song
There is more to learning and singing a song. Songs are stories and you need to be able to convey the meaning and emotional journey of a song to an audience. This is done through facial expressions, the use of gestures and eye contact.
Music Knowledge & Rhythm Work
In order to develop your musicianship, it is beneficial to understand music notation, rhythms and intervals between notes. This will help you for exam preparation and also in general when working with other musicians.
Sight Singing
Alongside musical knowledge and music theory, sight singing is a beneficial skill to help improve your intonation and pitch accuracy.
In order to achieve your goals, you will need to commit to regular singing practice between lessons.
